Chris Pennie:

Chris Pennie is a really funny fella. I’m not just saying this because he used to take one of my hot lady friends on motorcycle rides. He has no gimmicks, unless you count being a single dad with a hot body and glasses talking about what happened to that kid in high school that wore the beret. (Pennie assures me that beret boy is fine, “still not right, but he’s ok.”) Pennie started performing comedy five years ago in the trenches of Boston’s notoriously tough open mics, which he began as a result of his constant complaining. “Every time I would complain about things that really bothered me, the people I was talking to would always be laughing by the time I was done. It was never on purpose, but I realized that I should do something with it.”
Pennie, who grew up in Wilmington, is a lifelong confirmed bachelor, although not in the professor Henry Higgins from My Fair Lady kind of way (not that there’s anything wrong with that), who recently made the change from part-time dad to full-time dad. He’s also a Volvo technician, so you know he’s safe. In the past year, Pennie has been a finalist in the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and Dick Doherty’s Beantown Comedy Riots, as well as an invitee to the Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta.

Sarah Martin: From a childhood of anti-conformity, to teenage years of rehabilitation only to be let free in society at large, she is now a living a jaded life in her 20’s. Using up all her optimism early in life makes her more of a 60 year old trapped inside her body, yet still not void of vitality and dry wit. Tactfully satirizing life, one joke at a time, Sarah puts her often cynical and sardonic perspective on things, with some extra sass. With the ability to make an obscure reference sensible, and a sensitive subject acceptable she is building a name for herself by actually saying out loud what you shouldn't be thinking, but you were anyways.

Sarah has been a semi-finalist at the Catch a New Rising Star Competition in 2008, a winner in the 2009 + 2011 April Fool’s Contest, and a winner in The Barking Crab's Laugh-a-thon 2010. Last year she was a finalist in Joker's Wild 'Next Big Thing', a semi-finalist in The RI Comic throwdown, a finalist in The Beantown Comedy Riot, Winner of the Big Sauce Radio contest on UnRegular Radio, was featured in the Ladies of Laughter Showcase in the Boston Comedy Festival and made her first 2 TV appearances performing on local cable stations most likely making the 12 people watching.... confused.

With a new year kicked off keep an eye out for this girl as she is starting to make her stamp in the comedy world. In 2012 Sarah went through 13 weeks of competition and over 100 comics to take 2nd place in The Beantown Comedy Riot!
